lyrics
Last night we were starting to slide
Well I told you once and I told you twice, so whoa!
This to me is intolerable
When one is all I need
Get off your horse and get on your bike
You never phone so we never fight, whoa!
This machine is just impossible
When sweetness can’t succeed
She’s a hit, she’s a miss, with a cruel, cruel heart
Build it up together then she tears it apart
Talking down to me from the very start
It’s not the words its the way that you say it, way that you say it
Happy endings are out of sight
What will you turn into at midnight, whoa!
How you burned me down again I don’t know
This singer’s got a broken heart
And all the flowers in all the parks, whoa!
Won’t give this victory to you
‘Cause one is all I need
She’s a hit, she’s a miss, with a cruel, cruel heart
Build it up together then she tears it apart
Talking down to me from the very start
It’s not the words its the way that you say it, way that you say it
I'm biased. I first found Dropkick back in the MySpace heyday. Their jingle-jangle indie pop similarities Teenage Fanclub grabbed me. A good thing.
However, these are lazy similarities, but if it sells this for you then you'll LOVE this Best of...
Gorgeous tunes, songwriting, playing, production, hooks, melodies, harmonies. I could have picked any song as my fave, in fact my fave isn't even on this compilation.
This is a perfect "in"... but now may I suggest the studio LP 'Turning Circles'. dunkie
Listening to a lot of Kevin Robertson and the Vapour Trails recently. Superb songwriting and playing. Those guitar sounds are so damn good. whatrobdidnext
